It wasn't a pretty picture on Sunday for the Chicago Bears, as quarterback Caleb Williams went down with a non-contact injury in the fourth quarter of the game and was taken off on a cart.

Williams is one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the NFL, and the Bears' offense is obviously structured around him. So, it's imperative that he gets back to full strength sooner rather than later.

So, how long will Williams be out? One NFL analyst has a new injury recovery timeline, and it's both good and bad news.

Caleb Williams could miss up to four weeks with hamstring injury

On Tuesday, NFL insider Pat McAfee spoke about Williams' injury and gave some inside information. He mentioned that the quarterback will likely be out for the team's game against the Philadelphia Eagles on "Monday Night Football" on Sept. 28. He also talked about a recovery timeline.

"Two to four weeks is generally the diagnosis for these kind of hamstring injuries," he said, as shared on his official X account.

So, at least it's not looking to be a season-ending injury. But, to think that Williams could be out as much as a month with this injury certainly isn't the news Ben Johnson or the Bears wanted to hear.

Williams went down after he was scrambling toward the end zone on Sunday, with the Bears and Vikings in a close 6-3 game. Right away, he appeared to be in pain and wasn't able to apply weight to his right leg.

Williams went straight to the injury tent and was eventually taken toward the locker room on a cart. Now, those in the Bears' camp can brace for what will hopefully be better news about his recovery timeline, because if they can keep him to missing only one or two games, that's ideal.
