Stewart Hagestad chases another Crump Cup title

Match-play maestro Stewart Hagestad is making a run for another title at the 101st Crump Cup.
Hagestad, who represented the U.S. at the Walker Cup in Northern Ireland just a few weeks ago, beat Andrew Bailey of Shaker Heights, Ohio, 2 and 1, in a Saturday afternoon match at Pine Valley in Clementon, New Jersey, to reach the semifinals on Sunday. Bailey had upended stroke-play medalist Gregor Orlando in the previous round of match play, 2 and 1. Hagestad of Hermosa Beach, California is the 2023 champion and will take on Chris Wheeler of Lewisville, Texas, who disposed of Drew Kittleson, 2 and 1.

Andrew Price of Lake Bluff, Illinois, the 2024 champion, will play Jeronimo Esteve of Windemere, Florida, in the other final four match at the George Arthur Crump Memorial Tournament.
In the senior division, Randy Haag of Orinda, California, knocked off No. 1-seed Jamie Slonis of Sewell, New Jersey, and will face defending champion Bob Royak of Alpharetta, Georgia, in a Sunday morning semi-final match. Michael McCoy of Norwalk, Iowa, will play Dan Sullivan of Pasadena, California, on the other side of the bracket.Pine Valley Golf Club will not be open to the public for Sunday’s final match of the 2026 Crump Memorial Tournament.
