Spalletti agrees that Kolo Muani and Woltemade can play together

Luciano Spalletti has discussed one of the main questions among Juventus supporters since the end of the last transfer window, namely whether Randal Kolo Muani and Nick Woltemade can play together.
The strikers joined the Bianconeri this season, and both scored in the latest win against NEC. However, it was a straightforward fixture for the Old Lady, who were the much better team and dominated the match. It was therefore no surprise that Juventus scored five goals.
The bigger question is whether the men at the Allianz Stadium can carry that form into domestic football. That will be tested today when they face Atalanta in Serie A, with the Bianconeri expecting a much tougher challenge.
Spalletti discusses attacking options
Kolo Muani has been Juventus’ starting striker since the campaign began, but he has struggled to find the goals needed to prove that he can lead the attack effectively. Woltemade has not fared much better, although the NEC match was his first start.
With both forwards expected to contribute more, there has been considerable discussion over whether they can form an effective partnership. Juventus will hope their performances improve as they gain more experience playing together.

Kolo Muani and Woltemade can play together
Spalletti was asked whether the two strikers can play alongside each other, and he explained that Woltemade still needs to regain his fitness before his role can be fully assessed.
Speaking via Calciomercato, he said:
“He (Woltemade) wasn’t very fit when he arrived, now he needs to get back into shape. We need to get him playing to see if he can stay up front or roam around the attacking zone. He and Kolo Muani can play together, but up front I need a substantial change during the game.”
Spalletti’s comments suggest that Juventus could use both attackers together, although he wants Woltemade to regain his fitness and become more accustomed to his role first.
The upcoming meeting with Atalanta should provide a much stronger test of Juventus’ attacking options and whether the pair can contribute effectively together.
