After Commodores quarterback Jared Curtis threw an interception with about a minute to go in regulation, the Wolfpack looked poised to walk away with a 31-28 victory in Nashville on Saturday.
However, on 4th-and-7 with just six seconds on the clock, NC State attempted to run out the clock and sparked the most inexplicable sequence of the college season so far. As quarterback CJ Bailey scrambled around the end zone to drain the clock, defensive end Miles Capers forced a shocking fumble.
His team recovered for the touchdown and 35-31 victory. Bailey not taking a knee to run out the clock and leaving himself exposed in the end zone gave Vanderbilt a jaw-dropping opportunity to get the victory.

Why didn't NC State instruct Bailey just to kneel it out? How in the world did this happen? Did Bailey just glitch briefly and run the play improperly? Was he set up to fail from the start?
Vanderbilt shouldn't have won this game, but it did in absolutely mind-melting fashion. This was a day neither team will forget. Holy cow.
