A five-star Sandton restaurant has distanced itself from a viral video filmed on its premises, in which a man threatened to “murder” several women who had allegedly rejected his advances.

MAN THREATENS TO ‘MURDER’ WOMEN AT SANDTON RESTAURANT
In a video that has gone viral on social media, a man, who claimed to be a wealthy businessman, threatened to physically harm a group of women.
During the incident, which took place in the “powder room”, the man angrily reacted to a woman who had allegedly rejected his romantic advances.
He said: “I will put a bullet in you now, I will murder you now and walk. I can buy this restaurant and own it. You can say no in a nice way.
“I’m a wealthy man. You guys are poor ladies”.
The man – who claimed to live in Steyn City – was later asked to leave the restaurant, which angered him further.
He allegedly threatened to physically harm the Sandton restaurant owner, who is believed to have called the police.

VLAMO RESTAURANT RESPONDS IN STATEMENT
In a statement posted on its social media platforms, Vlamo restaurant confirmed that the incident took place at its Sandton establishment and that the man, who was not affiliated with the establishment, was escorted off the premises.
“We take the safety, dignity and well-being of women as well as other guests and our team extremely seriously. We have zero tolerance for behaviour that compromises the safety or experience of anyone within the establishment.
Vlamo restaurant stated that it was in contact with the women and would support the steps they took. It also affirmed that it was “committed to providing a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors”.
