Typically, Saturday is for teams to train, rest, and prepare, a stretch reserved almost entirely for Thursday, Sunday, and Monday games until the league adds Saturday matchups later in the year.
The rest of Week 2 picks up again on Sunday with a stacked 14-game slate, before Monday night closes things out.
Are There Any NFL Games On Saturday?
There are no NFL games on Saturday, September 19. The NFL does not schedule regular-season games on Saturdays until Week 15, once college football’s regular season has wrapped up and the two sports no longer compete for the same broadcast windows. Fans will have to wait until Sunday afternoon for the next NFL kickoff.

Thursday’s opener is already in the books. Buffalo improved to 2-0 behind Allen’s dominant performance, while Detroit dropped to 1-1 despite a strong second half from Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
The Lions, who have the eighth-best-ranked unit on PFN’s Offense Metric, have been fixtures in the national spotlight under Dan Campbell, but they couldn’t back it up Thursday against a Bills team that finished 9-for-12 on third down. Edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson set a new franchise record by recording at least one sack in six straight games.
