The Marist men, led by head coach John Dunne, have tabbed for fifth place among 13 schools and the women, led by Erin Doughty, have been selected for seventh.
Fairfield University was voted the top in both polls. The Fairfield women have won four of the last five playoff titles (2022, 2024-26) and are coming off a 28-4 season and 19-1 mark in conference play. The Quinnipiac women lost to Fairfield in the 2026 Metro finals and have been picked to finish sixth. The Fairfield men were 22-13 last season, 11-9 in Metro play. The Stags lost to playoff champion Siena in the semifinals.
Marist grad student Jadin Collins-Roberts was named to the men's preseason All-Metro first team and senior Jack Graham to the third team. Collins-Roberts has appeared in 92 games for the Red Foxes the past three seasons. Last season he led the team in minutes (30.4 per game), averaging 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds. Graham is a transfer from New Hampshire (and formerly Richmond), ranking No. 2 in Wildcats' scoring at 11.4 points per game.
Marist sophomore Justine Henry was one of three unanimous picks as a women's preseason All-Metro first team and junior Danielle Williamsen to the third team. Henry was a 2025-26 All-Metro rookie selection, averaging 12.5 points, 7.1 rebounds and 29 minutes per game. Williamsen — who is bouncing back from a season-ending injury last February — averaged 10 points, three rebounds and two assists over 22 games.
The Metro preseason player of the year selections are Fairfield sophomore swing Declan Wucherpfennig for the men and Fairfield grad Katey L'Amoreaux for the women, who was the league's scoring leader (18.5 points per game), and also led in assists, field goals made, field goal percentage and free throws made.
The Marist men open Nov 2 at home with Dartmouth, Nov. 5 at home with Maryland-Baltimore County and No. 8 at Massachusetts-Lowell. The Marist women open Nov. 2 at Drexel, Nov. 5 at Bryant and Nov. 8 at home against New Jersey Tech.
Last season, the Marist men (19-2) were 12-8 in Metro play, beating Quinnipiac in the quarterfinals and bowing to Merrimack in the semifinals. The Marist women (11-20) were 8-12 in the Metro, losing to Manhattan in the opening round.
