The Green Bay Packers took on their fierce NFC North rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, in Week 1. The Vikings lost Kyler Murray early due to a concussion. But they still were able to take down Jordan Love and the Packers in front of their home fans.
Green Bay had a solid game offensively and did well enough to stay in it. However, a costly interception in the fourth quarter swung momentum in favor of the Vikings for good. Minnesota came away with a 39-22 win on Sunday.
The interception was especially costly considering the situation. Green Bay was down by 10 at the time. Scoring in that situation makes it a one-score game. A touchdown would have put Green Bay in a position to win with another touchdown.

In the end, it wasn’t meant to be. This loss has stung quite deeply for Love and his teammates. “It just sucks the way we ended that game right there,” the Packers quarterback said, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
Carson Wentz stepped in well for the injured Murray on Sunday. He didn’t turn the ball over once. Additionally, he threw three touchdowns on the Green Bay defense. It was a heroic performance for the Vikings in the season opener.
The Packers are the only team in the NFC North without a win after Sunday’s slate of games. Green Bay knows it can be better, and they do have time to figure it all out. Green Bay goes for its first win of the season on September 20 against Geno Smith and the New York Jets.
