Burlington vape store owner charged with sex assault; 4 nabbed in Peel retail theft bust

A man who owns two vape stores in Burlington is facing charges over an alleged sexual assault at one of his premises, Halton Regional Police said Wednesday.

Police said a woman was recently assaulted while she was alone with the accused inside Vape on Plains II, located at 1376 Plains Rd. E.
Police said Mouhamad “Frank” Sabra, 64, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
Police said Sabra owns another vape store, Vape on Plains, located at 70 Plains Rd. W., and investigators said they believe that there may be more victims.

Four arrested in organized retail thefts: Peel cops
Four Brampton residents are facing numerous charges and thousands of dollars worth of stolen goods have been seized following a police investigation into a series of organized retail thefts in the GTA.
Peel Regional Police said the four suspects were first identified by investigators probing a June 18 theft at a Mississauga business in the Clayhill Rd.-Dundas St. W. area. Cops connected the four to other retail thefts in Peel Region.
Then, on July 20, officers executed a search warrant at a Brampton home in the Mississauga Rd.-Mayfield Rd. area, where they found about $15,000 worth of goods taken from several retailers, including fitness, department, and pharmacy stores.
Police listed the stolen items as electronics, health and fitness products, household goods, health supplements, and cosmetics.
Police also seized two vehicles, jewelry and cash in different currencies.
Czuljana Ciecierska, 43, has been charged with seven counts of theft under $5,000, one count of theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and laundering proceeds of crime.
Dawid Ciecierski, 47, has been charged with four counts of theft under $5,000, one count of theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and laundering proceeds of crime.
Dawid Ciecierski, 21, has been charged with three counts of theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and laundering proceeds of crime.
Danuta Towinska, 20, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Peel police said the investigation is ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact the 11 Division CIB at 905-453-2121, ext. 1133.

Durham man facing firearms charges
A Durham man is facing firearms charges after allegedly importing unregulated firearm parts from the U.S.
Durham Regional Police said investigators with the Guns and Gangs Unit received a tip from the Canada Border Services Agency in August.
Investigators then executed a search warrant at a home in Beaverton on Sept. 1, where they allegedly found two rifles, magazines, and ammunition.
Police said the suspect, who does not hold a valid firearm licence, was found near the home and taken into custody without incident.
Jason Courtney Birarda, 40, of Brock Township, is charged with two counts of possessing a firearm while knowingly not holding a valid licence.
