Luka Doncic recently sat down for a one-word interview with the Los Angeles Lakers, and hilarity ensued. Doncic was asked about Austin Reaves, the Lakers, his biggest strength on the court, his hidden talent, and more.

Q: “If you were blindfolded, could you beat an average fan in a game of HORSE?”
Doncic: “Yes.”

Doncic: “Yes.”
Q: “What if you could only shoot with your left hand?”
Doncic: “No.”
Q: “What if you couldn’t dribble?”
Doncic: “No.”
Q: “What if you played in flip-flops?”
Doncic: “Yes.”

The last answer was probably the most important one. Doncic hosted a Lakers minicamp in Slovenia in August, and it appears to have brought this new-look team together. Kevon Looney is among the new faces, and he showered Doncic with praise for the bonding trip. The vibes sure are great right now.
What also remains great is the relationship between Doncic and Reaves. These two have been firing lighthearted jabs at each other for a year now, and it doesn’t look like that is going to stop anytime soon.
Now, Reaves has said basketball is the only sport Doncic is better than him at. With how good he’s at golf, he wouldn’t be worried about his teammate surpassing him there. The Slovenian only picked up the sport in 2026 and has gotten addicted to it to the point that he chose becoming a golfer as his alternate career path.
To go with Reaves, Doncic has also gotten close to Jarred Vanderbilt, whom he chose as the Laker he’d swap lives with for a day. Vanderbilt loved the Slovenia trip so much that he is now interested in getting a Slovenian passport.
Getting back to basketball, Doncic claimed patience is his biggest strength. The 27-year-old is quite patient on the offensive end, which is part of why he is so good. Doncic slowly, methodically breaks down defenses and dominates.
Now, where Doncic isn’t patient is when it comes to dealing with the officials. The six-time All-Star routinely loses his cool and starts complaining to them.
Back in 2022, Doncic said he sings to himself to avoid yelling at officials. Either he has abandoned that strategy by now, or it simply doesn’t work.
Speaking of singing, Doncic called it his hidden talent. There is a viral clip of him singing along to Bad Bunny, and the Lakers need to put this to the test right away. We all want to hear him sing.
We all also want to see Doncic on the basketball court again. The guard averaged 33.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game for the Lakers in 2025-26. Doncic remains one of the best in the business and looks to be in tremendous shape as he goes into his ninth NBA season.
