‘They didn’t help my wife and daughter with their visa’ – Departed Kaizer Chiefs forward

Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Glody Lilepo claims Amakhosi refused to help his family get a visa while playing in South Africa.
The Congolese international spent 18 months with the Soweto giants before leaving for Libya last month.

During his time at Naturena, he scored close to 20 goals and helped the team win the Nedbank Cup in 2025.
Following his departure, Lilepo revealed the reasons which forced him to leave Kaizer Chiefs.
“My wife and my daughter couldn’t be with me in South Africa full time, because the club didn’t help me with their visas and permits,” Lilepo told Soccer Laduma.
“I spent a long time in South Africa without them. I would go to training every day and then go home. I was alone.
“I loved Chiefs and I wanted to stay, but when you have your family far away and there are problems with their visas and permits, it becomes difficult.”
Lilepo says Kaizer Chiefs did not increase his salary
The ex-Chiefs winger also felt that the club did not reward him for his hard work.
“The only thing I put on the table was that I wanted an increase in my salary,” Lilepo told the publication.
“I believed that I deserved it because I had become one of the important players in the team. I spoke to the manager (Kaizer Motaung Jr), but it was all in vain despite me explaining why I thought I deserved the increase. For me, the important thing was not simply to leave Chiefs for money. I wanted to play.”
Since Lilepo’s departure, Kaizer Chiefs signed Langelihle Phili as his replacement.
