De’Zhaun Stribling enters the 2026 season with a clear path to targets following extensive roster turnover and injuries in the 49ers’ offense. While he is not a plug-and-play fantasy starter for Week 1, his impressive preseason performance makes him a high-upside depth piece with midseason breakout potential as a rookie.

Should You Draft De’Zhaun Stribling in Fantasy Football?

Currently in PFN’s Free Fantasy Mock Draft Simulator, Stribling has an ADP of 156 right on the nose. That’s a 16th-round pick depending on how many people are in your league. That’s a late rounder for sure.

PFN’s fantasy experts Jason Katz and Kyle Soppe are a lot higher on him than the consensus. They have him as player number 105 in their fantasy football rankings, so that comes out as WR49. That’s still a WR5, borderline WR6 even in fantasy football, with a projected 9.79 PPR points per game.

The big question with Stribling: for somebody who has never had incredible production at the collegiate level, is he going to be able to outdo that in the NFL? I like his chances. I think from a physical perspective, he has the size, the raw speed, and the blocking factor that the 49ers love in a wide receiver, which doesn’t necessarily translate into fantasy, but in my opinion, it’s going to translate into more snaps for Stribling.

Looking at the weapons around him, sure, there are some big names in San Francisco, but a lot of them are old, and a lot of them are on the decline. Mike Evans, old. Deebo Samuel, old. Christian Kirk, old. George Kittle, old. They’ve got the most unc group of weapons on offense that you could possibly get. There’s talent there for sure, but Stribling, I think, has the highest ceiling.

Looking at the youth that he brings to the table, especially with Pearsall out, I think Stribling has the best top speed out of the wide receivers that are likely to make that 53-man roster. If Brock Purdy wants to stretch the field vertically, I think Stribling might end up being his go-to guy.

I’m not going to go out of my way to take him super early. I don’t think he should project as a starting-caliber fantasy prospect right out of the gate, but I think there’s potential for him to be one of those guys. If you can get someone like that at 156 overall in your fantasy draft, that’s definitely worth taking a shot on.

I think Stribling is a really good fit for what the 49ers want to execute on offense, and I think that he has the highest ceiling of any wide receiver on that offense. He’s definitely somebody that I am taking at his current ADP.

The Niners were ahead of the market on Stribling in April (33rd overall pick), and given their usage/hype of him this summer, he’s living up to the potential they thought he had that no one else did.

The rich get richer.

In the fantasy space, I still need to see more. Stribling never hit 900 yards or 7 scores in a season during his college career. That’s not to say that he can’t in the pro game, and being attached to a Kyle Shanahan unit is certainly a good place to be.

He’s still a bit raw, and this matchup is brutal. There is a lot of the scoring equity tied up in the veterans on this team, and I’m not sold that this team gets into the mid-20s of points in this game.

If he can hold his own in this spot, Stribling will be my top-ranked receiver in this offense and a top-30 option next week with the Dolphins coming to town. I’m pumping the brakes on the summer hype, but not pressing them to the floor: Show me proof of concept against NFL defenders, and then it’s wheels up.
