FC Bayern traveled to Schalke in their first Topspiel fixture of the season. It’ll be the first Bundesliga game at Veltins Arena for the hosts since 2023. The Rekordmeister won each of the last 12 encounters against Schalke, who last tasted victory in the fixture when Manuel Neuer was their goalkeeper.
The 40-year-old returns to Bayern’s lineup after Jonas Urbig made his first appearance of the season in Osnabrück. Meanwhile, Jamal Musiala is included in FC Bayern’s squad for the first time in a competitive fixture this season. Vincent Kompany rotated his side ahead of the Champions League opener in midweek.
