BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Week 3 of high school football in Alabama is in the books. We were treated to another No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in 6A. #2 Vestavia Hills paid a visit to #1 Thompson.
The Warriors had no issues and dispatched the Rebels 49-0. Thompson improves to 3-0 on the season with wins over (6A) #3 Central Phenix City, (5A) #2 Clay-Chalkville, and (6A) #2 Vestavia Hills.

Alabama QB commit Trent Seaborn became the state's all-time leading passer in the victory.
#7 Spain Park played host to Oak Mountain in another area 6A clash. The Jaguars scored touchdowns on their first three possessions en-route to a 42-21 victory.
Mountain Brook and #7 Homewood renewed their rivalry at Waldrop Stadium. The two played one of the games of the year a season ago. The Patriots took home a drama free 33-13 win tonight to improve to 2-1 on the young season.
Pelham and Helena played perhaps the game of the night. The Huskies won a 27-21 thriller on a late pick six to seal the ball game. Helena stays undefeated at 2-0, while the Panthers fall to 2-1 on the season.
In other 6A action, #9 Hewitt-Trussville defended home turf with a 40-24 victory over #4 Hoover.
In 5A, #9 Hillcrest Tuscaloosa continued its impressive opening to the season with a 63-7 beatdown of Hueytown. #2 Clay-Chalkville bounced back from its loss to Thompson with a 68-0 victory over Springville.
Elsewhere in 5A, McAdory won a thriller over Northridge 41-37. Parker defeated Mortimer Jordan 42-13.
