RELEBOHILE MOFOKENG MAKES HIS MARK

Union SG took control of the match early. Louis Patris opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before Kevin Mac Allister doubled the advantage shortly after half-time.

Mofokeng then added the finishing touch in the 63rd minute, calmly finding the back of the net to make it 3-0 and effectively end any hopes of a Sint–Truiden comeback.

It was another composed finish from the young playmaker, who has adapted remarkably quickly to life in Belgian football.

The goal also marked his second league goal of the campaign. He already scored on his league debut as a substitute against Westerlo in August.

Mofokeng’s impressive start to life in Europe had also seen him score the decisive penalty in the Belgian Super Cup, further underlining his ability to make an immediate impact.

ROYALE UNION SAINT-GILLOISE CLIMB SECOND

His performance against Sint–Truiden was rewarded with Man of the Match honours as Union SG secured another important three points.

The victory sees Royale Union Saint-Gilloise climb to second place in the Jupiler Pro League. It solidified their position in the early title race.
