The Jacksonville Jaguars have completely shuffled the offensive line this offseason, with only one player staying put: Robert Hainsey at center. As a result, Anton Harrison is starting at left tackle after being on the right side in his first three seasons, while Cole Van Lanen, who returned to practice two weeks ago, is now taking over at right tackle. With the emergence of a rookie and Patrick Mekari beginning the season on injured reserve to recover from a back procedure, Ezra Cleveland has moved to right guard.

Emmanuel Pregnon has been a pleasant surprise of the offseason. Pregnon began training camp as a backup before starting at left guard in the first preseason game and has since received first-team reps there over the past two weeks of camp. The third-round pick even sat out the final two preseason games, indicating that he won the starting left guard job.

During Tuesday’s press conference, James Gladstone was asked about Emmanuel Pregnon, as reported by the X handle Touchdown Jaguars! Podcast. Gladstone said that Pregnon is currently in a good spot, earning trust from both his teammates and coaches. He also added that down the stretch, the rookie showcased his skills and consistency on the practice field while his flaws began to wane.

“I think he’s in a really good spot. He has earned a lot of trust and equity from both teammates and coaches over the course of the offseason and training camp,” Gladstone said. “It was down the back stretch of training camp that you started to see his superpowers show up and his flaws began to diminish. I think he settled in and has put himself in position to really help our team right off the bat.”
