The Miami Dolphins had a very thin safety group this offseason, and after trimming it down to four players with the releases of Louis Moore and Major Burns over the last two days, it looked like they might've been done.

However, Miami is now moving on from their most-experienced safety, as NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Dolphins are releasing Lonnie Johnson Jr.
Johnson, 30, split his college career between San Bernardino Valley, Garden City Community College and Kentucky from 2014-18, before the Houston Texans took him in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft. In his seven seasons in the league, he's appeared in 90 games for the Texans, Tennessee Titans, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders.
The Dolphins signed him to compete for a spot in their thin room, but they appear comfortable going forward with Dante Trader Jr., Zayne Anderson and Michael Taaffe.
