The Denver Broncos have trimmed their roster down from 91 players to 53 and now have their initial 53-man roster for the 2026 season. Now, we could see a few minor changes in the coming days, but for now, this is your Broncos 53-man roster heading into Week 1 of the 2026 regular season.

We had a few shockers, including three rookies being waived, as well as Jaleel McLaughlin and Drew Sanders being let go. However, Sam Ehlinger, Lil’Jordan Humphrey, Tyler Badie, and rookie tight end Dallen Bentley made the team.

With all that said, here is your 2026 Denver Broncos initial 53-man roster and my thoughts on who they kept and who they let go. The depth chart is a guesstimate on my part, and not an official depth chart. We will get that in the coming days from the Broncos.

Thoughts

  • QB: Broncos kept all three QBs on their roster and it’ll likely be Jarrett Stidham as your backup with Sam Ehlinger as your third-string QB
  • RB: Tyler Badie made the team while Jaleel McLaughlin was let go – I’d look for Cody Schrader to be a practice squad candidate – Look for veteran FB Adam Prentice to land on the practice squad and be elevated the next three weeks before being moved to the 53-man roster afterwards
  • WR: Only real surprise here is Lil’Jordan Humphrey making the 53-man roster – I’d expect him to be active on gamedays while another receiver will likely be inactive
  • TE: The shocker of the day was the team waiving 5th round rookie TE Justin Joly – We’ll see if he clears waivers but 7th round rookie Dallen Bentley did make the team – Blocking specialist Nate Adkins also made the team while Caleb Lohner landed on the short-term IR.
  • OL: Frank Crum went on the short-term IR and your reserves are Alex Palczewski, rookie Kage Casey, Alex Forsyth, and veteran Matt Peart – Look for Calvin Throckmorton to land on the practice squad

Thoughts

  • Defensive Line: Broncos kept 7 defensive lineman with Jordan Jackson making the team
  • Edge Rusher: Jonathon Cooper landed on the exempt list and it will be Jonah Elliss and Que Robinson pushed into a big role on the Broncos top ranked defense
  • Linebacker: Fan favorite Red Murdock was waived as was Taurean York – We will see if one or both make it through waivers – They also kept Karene Reid and Jordan Turner as the backups to Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad
  • Cornerback: No real surprises
  • Safety: All-Pro special team Devon Key made the team as did JL Skinner and special teams ace Tycen Anderson – We’ll see if/when Taylor Rapp returns to the team

Thoughts

  • Lutz and Crawshaw return as your kicking specialists as expected
  • One glaring hole is long snapper after Mitchell Fraboni was let go – I would anticipate him landing on the practice squad and being elevated three times before being added to the 53-man roster
