La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Thursday tied up a deal for a fresh addition to the club’s defensive ranks at reserve team level. This comes amid confirmation of youngster Oscar Naasei preparing to take his talents to Spain’s capital.
Naasei, for those not familiar with his name, is a Ghanaian defender, who chiefly lines out in a central role. The 21-year-old has spent the last couple of seasons making a name for himself on the books of Granada, continuing to act as first-choice over the early weeks of the new campaign.
Real Madrid were first credited with an interest in his signature some time ago, having long been keeping a close eye on Naasei’s development.
Florentino Pérez and co, in turn, recently opened official negotiations with those in the boardroom at Granada, over the terms of a an immediate transfer.
And as alluded to above, on Thursday, these discussions are understood to have borne fruit for club and player alike. As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Real Madrid have agreed to sign 21-year-old Ghanian centre back Oscar Naasei. Deal agreed for €2m fee from Granada as Naasei seen as talent for future initially joining Castilla team. There was a German club keen but Naasei signs for Real Madrid. Medical also done.’
