Indianapolis Colts: Deliver Major News for $114 Million Stud

· Yahoo Sports

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has been dealing with a lingering ankle injury since the end of the 2024 season. Pierce played through it, but it progressively worsened during the final month of last season, prompting him to take some days off from practice. He underwent a PRP injection in January, which typically carries a six- to eight-week recovery time. Unfortunately, the stud receiver did not respond well to the procedure and underwent ankle surgery in late March.

As a result, Alec Pierce missed spring workouts, prompting the Colts to place him on the active/PUP list to start training camp, and he has yet to practice. His ankle surgery typically requires a four- to six-month recovery timeline, with the six-month mark falling in late September. Because of this, Pierce was potentially in jeopardy of missing the first month of the season and remaining on the PUP list.

According to Mike Chappell of FOX59/CBS4, the Colts have activated Alec Pierce from the PUP list. As Stephen Holder of ESPN NFL Nationnotes, Pierce returned to practice Thursday but is only participating in individual drills to start the ramp-up period. Although it is still early, the hope is for the stud wide receiver to be ready for the regular-season opener, which is in two and a half weeks.
