“Slap in the face” Journalist responds to Spalletti’s criticism of Kolo Muani

Luciano Spalletti was not pleased with Randal Kolo Muani after the Juventus striker missed at least one good chance during their match against Frosinone. The Frenchman impressed during his first spell on loan at the club, which encouraged the Bianconeri to pursue his signature for an extended period during this transfer window.

Juventus eventually secured their man and have played their part in bringing him back to Turin, but Kolo Muani must now deliver on the pitch. Matches against teams such as Frosinone should provide the striker with opportunities to score, and he found himself in several promising positions during the fixture.

Spalletti Wants More From Kolo Muani

Kolo Muani should have found the net after being presented with at least one excellent opportunity created for him. As the leading striker in Turin this season, he is expected to make a significant contribution and help Juventus win matches, meaning Spalletti was understandably unhappy with what he saw from his forward against Frosinone.

After the match, Spalletti made his expectations clear, insisting that Kolo Muani has to score against teams such as Frosinone. The comments have now prompted a reaction from journalist Francesco Piantanida, who questioned whether the manager’s remarks were aimed solely at the striker.

Piantanida Reacts to Spalletti’s Comments

Piantanida has reacted to Spalletti’s comments and said via Tuttojuve: “Spalletti’s comments on Kolo Muani? In my opinion, they’re a slap in the face to the club, because those public comments make me think they’re not just a message for the player.

“Kolo Muani missed a great chance, but overall he played a good game. Juventus’ number nine must score that goal. Spalletti certainly doesn’t want a centre-forward just for that missed chance.”

Piantanida’s comments suggest that Kolo Muani’s overall performance should also be considered, rather than focusing entirely on the missed opportunity. Nevertheless, the expectation at Juventus is clear, with the striker required to convert important chances and provide the goals needed to help the team achieve its ambitions this season.
