Wynk suffered a spinal cord injury while recovering a fumble against St. Henry on Friday, as previously reported.

Celina Football coach Brennan Bader said that Wynk is fueled by football and faith.

“He’s any coach’s dream as far as what he can do on the field, but the person he is off of it just his character and integrity he checks all of those boxes,” he said.

Parker collided with another player during Celina’s season opener against St. Henry. He injured his spinal cord.

“All we can do is go out and play the second half,” said Bader. “And that second half was one of the most special things I’ve been a part of. On the field or off.”

Now his community is leaning on faith to carry them all through his recovery.
