When will the Seattle Seahawks lose for the first time next season, if at all?

While the Seahawks do have a chance to go undefeated in 2026, the likelihood of that happening is incredibly low. Seattle went 14-3 in 2025, though they did lose for the first time last season to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1. Next season will present the Seahawks with challenges throughout their slate of games, which begs to question which opposing team will hand them a loss first.
CBS Sports’ John Breech predicted that the Seahawks will lose their first game of the year in Week 6 of next season to the Denver Broncos, indicating that they will begin the year with a 5-0 record.
“If the Seahawks are going to slip up early in the season, this feels like the most likely spot,” Breech said. “After facing the 49ers in Week 5, they have to turn around and play on a Thursday night at Denver in Week 6. The Seahawks, who will have to fly halfway across the country on a short week, will have just three days' rest to prepare to face a Broncos team that should be one of the best in the AFC.”
Seattle will face the New England Patriots in their season opener, followed by the Arizona Cardinals, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers and San Francisco 49ers.
The Patriots got stronger as a team with several additions this offseason, most notably being A.J. Brown. New England will be tough to defeat in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl. On the other hand, the Seahawks will likely defeat the Cardinals, while the Commanders also pose a significant threat with Stefon Diggs now in their receiving game and Jayden Daniels set to return from injury. The Chargers have the strength to beat any team in the NFL in any given week, but also may be had, though they’ll be at home against Seattle, while the 49ers now have Mike Evans in their receiving corp and several injured players set to return in 2026, namely star linebacker Fred Warner.
The Seahawks have a very daunting first five matchups lined up ahead of them. In the event that they go undefeated against those teams, the Broncos will throw an elite defense at them, as well as a Sean Payton-led offense that now includes Jaylen Waddle in it, that may prove to be too much for Seattle. However, the Seahawks have the strength to get the better of the Broncos in the affair, making a 6-0 record or better to begin the year feasible as well, though a very tall task to accomplish.
