Liverpool barely making progress in their pursuit of €70m-rated PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye

Liverpool are barely making progress in their negotiations with PSG for Ibrahim Mbaye (18), for which the back-to-back UEFA Champions League winners have named their price – €70m – according to reports from L’Equipe and RMC Sport. The latter reported this week that the Senegalese international winger has agreed personal terms with Andoni Iraola’s Reds.

L’Equipe understands that both Mbaye and Bradley Barcola – who is also targeted by Liverpool – feel that their respective transfer saga has dragged on for long now. The two wingers are not expected to be part of Luis Enrique’s travelling squad for their Ligue 1 opener against Rennes.
Negotiations are said to be progressing slowly between PSG and Liverpool for the France international, but they are much slower for his Senegalese teammate. The outlet adds that Mbaye could even turn to another project with only ten days remaining in this summer’s transfer window.
RMC Sport reports that Liverpool value Mbaye at €50m, which is considerably lower that PSG’s €70m valuation. The Reds remain interested in the 18-year-old, but they are not inclined to spend that much on him. Liverpool have therefore pursued other leads, such as Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh. RMC Sport adds that Mbaye remains keen on joining Liverpool but, in those circumstances, reaching an agreement between the Reds and Les Parisiens is impossible.
