Meghan Markle reportedly could make a return to her acting roots after she moves back to the United Kingdom later this month.

Australian news outlet news.com.au reported that one reason behind Prince Harry and Meghan’s decision to return to England was that the Duchess had been offered a role in an upcoming project. The news outlet didn’t provide context on any role or projects that have been confirmed.

However, sources close to the Sussexes denied that Meghan had been offered an acting role in the country, BBC News reported.

The Sussexes are expected to return to Britain in late August, with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to enroll in schooling in September.

Project is ‘significant,’ says reporter

Bronte Coy, the entertainment reporter who wrote the news.com.au story, told BBC Radio 4’s Today show that Meghan is being offered a part in a “top secret” production in the U.K. and that it played a “significant” role in the family’s return to Britain.

“This is such a key part of the puzzle,” Coy told BBC Radio.

“I think when we all heard that news that Harry and Meghan were moving here, and within a matter of days, and the kids were enrolled in school, everyone was asking, what is Meghan going to be doing?

“I’m told it’s significant, and she’s very excited about it,” Coy continued, noting “we will find out relatively soon” about the news.

Meghan is best known for portraying lawyer Rachel Zane in the American legal drama “Suits,” a role she played for seven seasons. The series was filmed in Toronto.

Making cameo as herself in comedy

The Duchess of Sussex had put her acting career on hold after marrying Prince Harry. She previously told the BBC that she didn’t quit acting, but rather marriage was a “new chapter” in her life.

After nearly a decade, she made her acting return by making a cameo as herself in the upcoming comedy “Close Personal Friends,” starring Lily Collins and Brie Larson.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be settling in a private, non-royal residence just outside of London, per the Daily Telegraph . The royal couple currently live in Montecito, Calif., where Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, attend school.

Last month, the couple visited King Charles at Highgrove, but the move wasn’t discussed. There are currently no plans for Prince Harry and Meghan to resume their royal duties, which they stepped back from upon moving to the United States.
