His progress in the PSL was heavily affected by long-term injuries, and Sundowns also brought in a few foreign internationals.
And Nasir being on the books of Sundowns somehow took up a foreign spot that could have been filled by new players.
Now, the 26-year-old has gone back to the Ethiopian Premier League to sign for Mechal SC on a two-year deal.

FORMER SUNDOWNS STRIKER NASIR BACK IN ETHIOPIA WITH MACHEL SC
Nasir, now with Mechal SC, joined Sundowns as a promising youngster in 2022, and he had an immediate impact to his career in South Africa.
He scored three goals in his first four matches, including that sensational strike against Kaizer Chiefs in the early stages of the 2022-23 season.
However, he suffered a career-ending injury when Sundowns took on Orlando Pirates during the very same season.
Nasir leaves the South African shores having featured just 18 times and scoring four goals in the topflight.
