Manoranjan Pradhan General Manager, RWF hoisted the Tricolour National Flag, addressing the gathering, Pradhan said that it is the day to remember the great souls who selflessly sacrificed their lives for freedom of our country, also to remember the values of Patriotism, Unity in diversity & most importantly the Nation first mindset.
Pradhan shared that during the financial year 25–26, 2,10,026 wheels, 1,22,000 Axles & 1,20,100 wheelsets were manufactured and 1,16,561 wheelsets were dispatched, which is the highest ever in the history of RWF. In the financial year 26-27, till July, 48.29% of purchase orders were placed on MSEs, thereby boosting the priority sector.

Further, he mentioned that major project like Third Axle Machining Line, had been successfully completed there by increasing the axle production capacity. Major renovation works were being carried out inside the factory premises like Construction of approximately 1,20,000 sq. ft. of storage sheds to improve inventory management & material handling, Construction of sleeper flooring using released PSC sleepers for storage of approximately 8,000 wheels etc.
New Type-II Quarters, additional rooms in existing Quarters had been constructed, & more new quarters were under construction for the staff. Up gradation & renovation of infrastructure & facilities in Railway Hospital had been carried out.
RWF had continued to focus on energy conservation, water management & sustainable manufacturing. During the year, RWF had commissioned three rainwater harvesting ponds, developed non-asbestos gaskets, & introduced eco-friendly coir-based packaging for wheelsets.
He concluded his address by stating that “Freedom of India has given us lot of rights, but rights are always accompanied with duties. We have to commit ourselves to our duties towards building a stronger, self-reliant & ever progressing India”.
The celebrations included a march past by the Railway Protection Force, NCC boys & girls, Bharat Scouts & Guides, followed by a colourful cultural programme presented by employees & students of Kendriya Vidyalaya.
After the programme, Smt. Priya Pradhan, President RWF Women’s Welfare Organization, along with other office bearers, visited the Railway Hospital, distributed fruits, & wished patients a speedy recovery.
