Rams QB Stetson Bennett speaks highly of rising rookie receiver

One of the promising players from training camp for the Los Angeles Rams was rookie receiver CJ Daniels. A sixth-round pick out of Miami, Daniels has come in and worked his tail off, putting together a body of work that has drawn praise from multiple members of the organization.

On Thursday, backup quarterback Stetson Bennett, who is set to play with Daniels this week in preseason action, spoke about what he's witnessed from the former Hurricane.
“I've seen a guy who loves to show up and loves football," said Bennett. "He shows up to work every single day and wants to go out there and cook whoever is guarding him. He loves football and he's going to catch the ball when it's in the air. He runs great routes. He's a willing blocker. He studies the offense and he’s been great.”
Bennett was asked to expand on the term "loves football," with the quarterback detailing Daniels' consistency with his everyday approach.
“I think it probably means different things for different people, but I see it in his eyes," said Bennett. "He’s a steady guy. He is not riding the wave. He goes out there, he takes his craft seriously, and whenever we do something good, he is fired up about it. When we do something bad, he’s pissed off.”
This is the exact mindset needed to succeed within the Rams' system. The team publicly emphasizes "stacking days" as a key to their player development program. Never satisfied with the status quo, Daniels' refusal to accept anything less than the best is why he's winning over the locker room and coaching staff.
With a looming debut in Kansas City, perhaps Daniels could be the next preseason showstopper to become a valued member of the offense.
