Nebraska football to get visit from blue-chip defensive end in October

Nebraska football will be getting a visit from big-time defensive end Tayaun Lawrence. He will visit the program on October 3, when the team takes on Maryland.
Lawrence is a four-star defensive end. He is the 159th overall player in the 2028 class, the 18th overall player at his position, and the second overall player in his class from the state of Nevada according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.

The playmaker has offers from the likes of Arizona, Arizona State, Ohio State, and Alabama. That being said, the Huskers are his first scheduled visit on the calendar.
Currently, the program has no commitments in the 2028 class. However, they have been focusing on the edge position. That has been a priority position of focus for the Huskers; They could use additional depth after missing out on targets over the last few classes.
It will be interesting to see if Nebraska can make any headway with Lawrence on this visit. He is turning into a highly-coveted prospect, and elite teams are going after him. At the very least, Matt Rhule and the coaching staff are making a strong push and getting that first visit.
