Nashik: The Indian Constitution guarantees every citizen economic freedom, the right to live with dignity, and the freedom to pursue a profession, trade, or business of their choice. These constitutional provisions have played a crucial role in promoting entrepreneurship and accelerating the country's economic growth, said senior thinker Padma Shri Ramesh Patange.
He was speaking at a special lecture on "The Constitution and Industrial Investment", organised by the Nashik Industries & Manufacturers Association (NIMA). NIMA President Ashish Nahar, AIMA President Rajendra Pansare, BJP State Spokesperson Laxman Savji, NIMA Vice-President K.L. Rathi and other dignitaries attended the event.

Patange said entrepreneurs are not merely business owners but creators of national wealth. A nation's prosperity is not measured solely in monetary terms but also by its ability to provide essential goods and services to society. Countries with more wealth creators are generally more prosperous and economically stronger, he noted.
Speaking on the concept of economic justice, he said it lies in the fair and equitable distribution of wealth. He also highlighted that the Indian Constitution provides special protection to women while ensuring equal opportunities for every citizen.
Patange also observed that while states have the authority to frame their own industrial policies, they cannot enact laws that disrupt the national supply chain. Such laws, he said, are unlikely to withstand judicial scrutiny in the Supreme Court.
In his introductory remarks, NIMA President Ashish Nahar reviewed the association's journey and expressed confidence that Nashik would soon emerge as one of India's leading industrial cities.
Among those present were Kailas Patil, Satish Kothari, Pradeep Nikam, Kiran Khabia, Hemant Khond, Sachin Kankrej, Nitin Avhad, Mangesh Gandhi, Govind Borse, Nanasaheb Devre, Anil Mantri, Jayant Joglekar, Prakash Gunjal, along with a large number of industrialists, college principals, legal experts, and government officials.
