Fever Coach Stephanie White Named WNBA Coach of the Month for July

Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White was named WNBA Coach of the Month for July, the league announced Wednesday.

Indiana went 8-2 for the month and closed it on a five-game winning streak. The Fever averaged 101.0 points in July, the most in the league and the highest scoring average by any team in a single month in league history.
Indiana scored at least 100 points in each of those final five games: 110-107 over Seattle on July 17, 108-88 over New York on July 18, 123-88 over Connecticut on July 22, 105-95 at Seattle on July 28, and 112-98 at Portland on July 31. The run reached six games in Sunday's 108-100 loss at Minnesota, a league record for consecutive games scoring 100 or more. The Fever have reached 100 points 14 times this season, also a league record.
The two losses in July came at Los Angeles on July 8 and at home to Golden State on July 15.
It is the third Coach of the Month award of White's career and her first with Indiana. She is the second Fever coach to win it since the league created the award in 2017, joining Christie Sides, who won in August 2024.
White coached Indiana in 2015 and 2016 and took the Fever to the WNBA Finals in 2015. She won a title with the franchise as an assistant coach and returned as head coach in 2025. Indiana finished 24-20 last season and lost a five-game semifinal series to Las Vegas.
The award followed Kelsey Mitchell's selection as Eastern Conference Player of the Month for July, announced the same day. Mitchell scored 272 points across Indiana's 10 games last month, an average of 27.2, and led the team in scoring six times. Her streak of games with at least 20 points stands at 14.
Mitchell and Caitlin Clark both rank among the league's top three scorers this season, Mitchell at 24.0 points a game and Clark at 21.5. Sophie Cunningham is shooting 45.2% from 3-point range, Aliyah Boston 44.4%, and Mitchell 43.8%, putting three Indiana players among the top five in the league.
Fever players won Eastern Conference Player of the Week in three consecutive weeks, Mitchell once and Clark twice. Clark took the most recent of them on Tuesday, for Week 10. Mitchell won for Week 8 on July 14. Clark was also the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for June.
Fever center Damiris Dantas is out for the season after knee surgery.
Indiana is 19-11 and first in the Eastern Conference, a half-game ahead of Atlanta.
The Fever host Las Vegas on Thursday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Indiana won both earlier meetings this season, 84-68 on July 5 and 109-75 on July 12.
