Beloved Cape Town eatery Pancho’s finds a new home in Pinelands

Pancho’s has confirmed it will officially open the doors to its new home in Pinelands on Tuesday, 4 August, ending a remarkable 41-year run at its original location.

The restaurant recently offered customers a first look at its new premises, sharing a sneak preview in the Cape Town Eats Facebook group as excitement builds ahead of the opening.

Pancho’s first welcomed diners in Observatory in 1985 and has since become a fixture of Cape Town’s restaurant scene, attracting generations of families, students, friends and regular patrons.

Its new home is located at Central Square in Pinelands, where the restaurant says it aims to continue the traditions that made it a local favourite.

Same flavours, new surroundings

Although the address has changed, Pancho’s says customers can expect the same menu and welcoming atmosphere that have defined the restaurant for more than four decades.

The Tex-Mex menu will continue to feature favourites including nachos, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas and sizzling fajitas, alongside vegetarian options, lighter meals and sharing platters.

The restaurant will trade seven days a week, serving brunch, lunch and dinner, with advance bookings recommended during busy periods.
