We’re Looking For New Writers And Video Creators

We’re almost at the start of a new season, one that’ll hopefully be a lot of fun to cover on this site, and we’d love some new faces to join the team here at The Tilehurst End.
First and foremost, writers. One of my favourite things about this gig as editor is getting to work with a range of contributors who offer a variety of perspectives and areas of focus on the site, whether it’s (for example) Alex’s opinion pieces, Steven’s Opposition Lowdown articles, Dixey’s columns or Pete’s coverage of Reading Women.

There’s an awful lot of people I could mention, to whom I’m massively grateful. It’s humbling knowing there are so many people willing to contribute! Not just on a regular basis, but also with standalone articles, such as Niall’s take on the price of junior kits or Oliver’s on Reading’s 2026/27 ambitions.
So why not join us?
We’re always open to new ideas, whether it’s a regular feature, guest piece or anything else. There are no bad suggestions (within reason!). Perhaps something from the following takes your fancy…

- Coverage of the academy
- An away-day diary
“Ah, I’d be interested but I’ve never written anything before,” some of you may say. Experience is no issue. As long as you’re passionate about Reading FC and would be interested in writing about it, our door is open.
In fact, writing for us is particularly good for young, budding writers. It’s an opportunity to gain experience and put something on your CV, and we can offer valuable feedback.
Video
We’re also after new video creators for our social pages (Twitter, Facebook, Bluesky and YouTube).
Ben does a great job with his post-match summaries (such as this one from the 4-0 win at Newport County) and we’d love more of the same for away games specifically. If you have an alternative suggestion for what to cover in a regular video feature, we’re open to that too.
The key thing we’re looking for here however is consistency. Videos don’t have to be too long or high-tech (a couple of minutes recording opinion/summary/analysis to camera works really well), but we would like to be putting them out regularly.

Even if you wouldn’t like to contribute, we’d love to hear your feedback on TTE – the site, video/podcast output, social media coverage or anything else – if you’ve got something to share.
Is there a gap in our coverage that should be filled? Is there something we can do better? What are we doing that you like and wish we did more often? All ideas, critiques and suggestions are more than welcome as it’s so useful for us knowing what we should be doing and where we can improve.
