Under-the-radar Colts' training camp competition off to shaky start

One under-the-radar position battle taking place at training camp for the Indianapolis Colts doesn't appear to be off to a great start.
While we know that Tanor Bortolini will be the Colts' starting center, it remains to be seen who the backup will be.

Taking the bulk of those second-team snaps have been Dalton Tucker and Jimmy Morrissey. Also on the roster are UDFAs Geno VanDeMark and Josh Kreutz.
Through four training camp practices, off-target or errant snaps have been far too common.
"One alarming item through the start of camp, and even something we saw in the spring, has been consistent snap issues with the backups," wrote Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan.
Bowen adds that both Riley Leonard and Anthony Richardson have had issues catching snaps as well.
In past years, Danny Pinter has provided a steady backup presence at center, but he is now in Baltimore.
Tucker doesn't have any regular-season -- or college -- snaps at center in his career. Morrissey has played 318 offensive snaps in five NFL seasons, with 258 of them coming in 2021. Kreutz and VanDeMark are rookies.
This is an inexperienced group, and it's showing early in training camp.
