A recent dramatic police chase in Sandy Springs, Ga., reportedly ended with an alleged federal drug suspect’s car landing on top of a police cruiser.

According to fox5atlanta.com, the Sandy Springs Police Department street crimes unit teamed up with the HSI Atlanta Field Office to apprehend suspect Jorge Luis Delgado-Bermudez, who is allegedly tied to a large criminal organization.

Authorities said Delgado-Bermudez was wanted on multiple Fulton County drug charges, including methamphetamine and cocaine offenses.

He also faces additional federal charges.

Cops tried to box suspect

A police officer’s camera showed footage with the siren wailing as officers attempted to safely box in the suspect’s vehicle, but Delgado-Bermudez took off and his car loudly struck a concrete barrier, which lifted the vehicle’s rear end into the air before it landed on top of a Sandy Springs patrol vehicle and smashed the front window of the police car behind him.

Delgado-Bermudez then left his car and ran on foot, but officers were in close pursuit and quickly took him into custody.

“Yeah, he’s grabbing! He’s grabbing! He’s grabbing!” an officer can be heard saying as he catches up with the suspect now on the ground as they attempt to handcuff him.

No officers or members of the public were injured.

The police have not yet confirmed the specific name of the larger criminal organization tied to Delgado-Bermudez.

Authorities have not said the exact time the crash took place or where the suspect is currently being held.
