Germany coach Jürgen Klopp looking forward to working with Rudi Völler

Germany will be entering a new era as Jürgen Klopp is the new coach, succeeding Julian Nagelsmann. In a time of change within the DFB, Rudi Völler ultimately retained his position within the federation. In his first press conference as Germany coach, the 59-year-old said he sees Völler as an important figure in his role and is looking forward to working with him (even wanting to see his outbursts).

“Rudi will be an incredibly important contact person. His experience, his outlook on life, his ability to get angry at the right moments – I want all of that in my team,” Klopp said (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “He promised me he has a few stories to tell that I don’t know yet. I’m really looking forward to that. It’ll be good. I admired him greatly as a player.”

Perhaps Völler could teach Jürgen a thing or two when it comes to managing. The former Bayer Leverkusen and Roma striker has a 100%-win record when he managed Germany, and no I’m not talking about his stint in the early 2000s. Going back, it’ll be interesting to see how Klopp does with Die Mannschaft.
