Bishop McCort's Emma Bacon wins 3rd Fargo national title

FARGO, N.D. – Bishop McCort Catholic rising senior Emma Bacon earned her third career U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals freestyle tournament title Saturday.
At 135 pounds in the junior division, Bacon pinned Arizona's Camila Torres in 27 seconds to win gold.

Bacon totaled five pins and one technical fall during the tournament. She earned a golden ticket to compete in FloWrestling's Who's No. 1 event.
Chestnut Ridge rising senior Violette Lasure earned a bronze medal at 145. Lasure lost a 7-4 decision to eventual champion Nora Akpan in a semifinal match, but rebounded by pinning Greta Brus in 1:43 during the third-place bout. Lasure, a three-time PIAA champion with an 104-0 record and 95 pins, also beat Brus in a quarterfinal matchup.
