Trio sought in Scarborough stabbing; man charged in Toronto assault

Toronto Police are looking for three suspects in a July 4 stabbing in Scarborough.

It’s alleged around 10:30 p.m., the 17-year-old male victim was at a street festival in the Lawrence Ave. E. and Birchmount Rd. area when he encountered the two accused and their group of friends.

It’s further alleged 10 to 15 suspects approached the victim, engaged him in a physical altercation, brandished a knife and stabbed the the teen.

The victim and one of the accused were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim and two accused are known to each other.

As a result of the investigation, two youths have been arrested, but police are now requesting the public’s help identifying three outstanding suspects.

Images of suspect number one have been released and he’s described as a 19-year-man, about 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds, with black hair, and he was wearing a black Hoodrich vest, blue track pants, black and white shoes, and a white surgical mask.

Suspect number two is described as a Black male, about 5-foot-6 and 130 pounds, and he was wearing a black toque, black T-shirt, black pants, black surgical mask, and pink and blue rubber bracelets on his right wrist.

Suspect number three is described as a Black male, about 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds, with black dread locks, and he was wearing a black hooded sweater, white T-shirt, black Adidas pants with a stripe down the side, and black and white shoes.

No images were released of suspects two and three.

MAN, 29, ACCUSED OF ASSAULT IN TORONTO

A 29-year-old man faces three charges in an assault and threatening investigation in Toronto.

Toronto Police say on July 3, around 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a call for an assault in the St. Clair Ave. W. and Dufferin St. area.

It’s alleged the victim and suspect became engaged in an argument, the suspect assaulted and threatened the victim, and the victim suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim and suspect are known to each other.

Investigators had previously identified the suspect wanted in relation to this investigation and on July 9 as Maximiliano Perez Flores. The Toronto man turned himself into police on July 9 and was charged with assault, assault-choking, and uttering death threats.

BOAT THIEF BUSY IN GRAVENHURST

Ontario Provincial Police are seeking information in relation to the theft and attempted theft of two boats that occurred over the weekend in Gravenhurst.

On Sunday at 6:20 p.m., OPP officers from the Bracebridge detachment responded to a report of a stolen boat that had occurred sometime between July 10 and early Sunday morning.

The boat, a black 24-foot 2023 Sea Ray valued at approximately $100,000, had been docked at Dock E at the Gravenhurst Wharf located at 165 Steamship Bay Rd.

Cops say the boat was taken away on a trailer that was also stolen from the Gravenhurst Wharf before both were recovered abandoned on Sedore Rd. in Gravenhurst after apparent issues arose with the trailer.

Information from members of the public indicates the boat and trailer had been on Sedore Rd. since the early morning hours of Sunday.

Police say a second boat, a 2023 Dayliner VR5, had been tampered with, possibly with the intention of stealing it, at Dock D at the Gravenhurst Wharf.

Cops are asking anyone in the area of Steamship Bay Rd., North Muldrew Lake Rd., James St. and Muskoka Rd. to check any surveillance cameras for images of the stolen boat, in particular during the overnight to early morning hours of last Saturday and Sunday.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
