On Wednesday morning, the United States launched a fresh round of attacks on Iran. This came after they attacked Iran in a round of overnight strikes.

The overnight attacks killed at least seven Iranian military personnel after the U.S. targeted a military base in the southeastern city of Bampur.
In response, Iran said it will be ramping up attacks on American military targets on Wednesday.

Iran hangs man convicted in antigovernment protests
A man who was found guilty of taking part in anti-government protests in January was hanged.
“Mohammad Amini Dehaghani, a collaborator with the enemy, was hanged this morning after confirmation of the verdict by the Supreme Court,” the judiciary’s press agency reported, per Al Jazeera .
The press agency reported that Dehaghani was found guilty of “moharebeh” (war against God in Persian) and “corruption on earth.”
State media reported that on Jan. 9, the man threw a Molotov cocktail outside the governor’s office in Dehaghany, set it on fire and destroyed public property and the town’s police station.
In late December, protests spread across the country as people rallied against the cost of living in Iran.
Rights groups said crackdowns on protests resulted in thousands being killed.
Iran retaliates against U.S. attacks
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said another retaliatory campaign against American military targets is underway.
The attacks come after the U.S ramped up its attacks on Iran overnight, and on Wednesday morning, the New York Times reported.
In statements carried by state news media, the IRGC said that it had launched strikes at bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan.
7 Iranian military personnel killed in overnight strikes
At least seven Iranian military personnel were killed in overnight strikes by the U.S. The American attacks targeted a military base in the southeastern city of Bampur, according to Iranian state media, per CNN .

The American strikes targeted the military base’s barracks, accommodation facilities, guard posts and a guesthouse.

The new round of attacks comes as the U.S. reimposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports and launched a fourth consecutive night of strikes on Iran.
