The Colorado Rockies are at the bottom of the National League standings and likely won't be postseason contenders for a few years.

Naturally, the NL West club will be sellers at this year's trade deadline.
But will the Rockies trade away their All-Star catcher? The odds are slim, but there's at least one reason the front office should consider doing so.
"The Colorado Rockies aren't going anywhere soon. This is the worst team in baseball by a considerable margin. So, while there's no immediate pressure to deal [Hunter] Goodman, trading him at peak value and recouping significant prospect capital is a savvy business decision," FanSided's Christoper Kline wrote.
Goodman, named to the NL All-Star team, is hitting .254/.324/.538 with 27 home runs and a 121 OPS+ in 90 games this season with the Rockies.
"The Rockies need to restock their farm system. Colorado would be lucky to be playing meaningful baseball before Goodman is asking for a new contract, which the Rockies will never pay," Kline added.
If Goodman continues to build his power and make defensive improvements, he may become too expensive for Colorado by the time his free agency rolls around.
At this deadline, several teams could be interested in acquiring Goodman.

The New York Yankees, who have received a serious lack of production from Austin Wells, J.C. Escarra, and Ali Sanchez, could use an upgrade at catcher.
The Yankees could look elsewhere if the Rockies don't make Goodman available.
It's going to take a strong offer to pry Goodman away from the Rockies. A catcher with his hitting ability is rare in baseball these days.
