Inter Milan Bought Ivan Provedel From Lazio
On Wednesday evening, the Nerazzurri announced the capture of the 32-year-old goalkeeper, who arrived at Cristian Chivu’s court to replace the departing Yann Sommer. Due to the player’s age and his expiring contract (June 2027), the reigning Italian champions reportedly paid the Biancocelesti a transfer fee of €3 million. Hence, many observers considered it a true bargain for Inter.
Provedel Thanks Lazio
On Friday, Provedel chose to address his former club and its fanbase through a message posted on his official Instagram account. The Friulian expressed his gratitude to everyone at the club who supported him over the past four years.
It is only right for me to say thank you. I want to thank everyone who, over the past four years and under the various coaching staffs and club administrations, worked to give me the opportunity to represent the Biancocelesti colours in the best possible way. I always gave everything I had for these colours. Our paths have now parted, and my biggest thank you goes to those who taught me what it truly means to be a Lazio supporter. I bid farewell with great affection and, above all, wish Lazio and everyone who loves the club all the very best. Ivan

The highlights of Provedel’s Time at Lazio
Provedel arrived at Lazio in the summer of 2022 after making a name for himself at Spezia. He immediately carved himself a starting role in Maurizio Sarri’s starting lineup. While a run of poor form saw him lose his place to Christos Mandas during the final months of the 2024/25 campaign, he ended up regaining his berth when Sarri returned to replace Marco Baroni last summer.
In his first season at Lazio, the Italian shot-stopper equalled the Serie A record for the most clean sheets in a campaign by registering 21 shutouts. In his second campaign, he scored the historic last-gasp equalizer against Atletico Madrid in a Champions League group-stage fixture, setting the Stadio Olimpico ablaze.
