PSG's Bradley Barcola Addresses Future Amid Arsenal, Liverpool Links
· Yahoo Sports
Under contract with PSG through 2028, Bradley Barcola has been linked with several major foreign clubs since the beginning of the transfer window. At the same time, he has impressed since the start of the 2026 World Cup and his future at the club remains uncertain. Asked about his future during a press conference, the Parisian winger avoided giving a direct answer.
After scoring against Senegal and providing an assist against Norway after coming off the bench, Bradley Barcola started against Iraq and Sweden, scoring an important goal against the latter to make it 2-0. Expected to start once again against Paraguay on Saturday night in the Round of 16, the PSG winger has performed well since the beginning of the 2026 World Cup.

Could that lead him to leave PSG this summer in search of an undisputed starting role elsewhere? Or will he instead fight for a place in Luis Enrique's starting lineup? For months, speculation surrounding his future has been widespread. Those rumors have been fueled by the fact that Barcola has still not extended his contract, which expires in 2028, despite negotiations that began more than a year ago.
Recently, several media outlets reported that PSG could become open to selling Barcola if Leipzig winger Yan Diomande arrives in Paris. Other sources maintain that PSG considers Barcola untouchable and that it would therefore take an offer exceeding €135 million for the two-time European champion to even consider a transfer.
Liverpool and, to a lesser extent, Arsenal are often presented as credible destinations for the former Lyon player. For now, however, and quite naturally, Barcola remains fully focused on France and the World Cup.
"Right now, I'm really focused on the World Cup, as you said," he told a French journalist during Thursday's press conference. "But regarding what happens afterward, honestly, I don't know at the moment."
The more pessimistic observers will note that Barcola had a perfect opportunity to secure his future at PSG next season but chose not to. Others, more optimistic, will surely view it as the kind of standard, noncommittal language often heard during press conferences and attach little importance to it.
One thing is certain: Barcola is entering the final two years of his contract, is admired by numerous clubs and will have to define his future after the World Cup, either by agreeing to an extension or by informing PSG of his desire to leave. Luis Campos does not like seeing his best players enter the final two years of their contracts, and the summer of 2026 therefore promises to be pivotal for the 23-year-old winger, even though, technically, nothing prevents him from remaining in Paris without signing a new deal.
