Celtics legend gives encouragement to Jaylen Brown amid trade to 76ers
· Yahoo Sports
The Philadelphia 76ers were able to bring in All-NBA Second Team member Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks. At the moment, the Sixers look like they made out like big winners in the deal in an effort to continue growing as a championship-level team.
As Brown begins the next chapter of his career, he is faced with critics and doubts, which figure to fuel him as he moves forward. It appears those critics and doubters have fueled Brown in his career plenty of times before and he will have to feed off that again as he heads to Philadelphia.

Celtics legend Paul Pierce hopped on the "No Fouls Given" podcast and gave his encouragement to Brown:
Although I think he feels like he doesn’t get the respect that he deserves maybe from the organization, but Jaylen has to understand this is what your career has been built on: not being respected. You didn’t make the Olympic team. You’re not in the top five All-NBA, you know what I’m saying? This is what keeps you hungry, Jaylen. You have to come to the fact that — and I came to this realization as a Boston Celtic also — ‘Listen, I know I’m not respected like I feel like I should,’ but sometimes that’s what keeps you hungry, and sometimes those are the things that motivate you to keep you and drive you to become the player that you are today, which is a future Hall of Famer.
Brown will look to give the Sixers that scoring pillar next to Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid and help move the franchise forward. Brown has been to the mountaintop as helped Boston win the title in 2024 while taking home finals MVP honors. The Sixers haven't been past Round 2 since 2001. This seems like a perfect match.
