Bucks Have Quietly Parted Ways With Three-Year Forward

· Yahoo Sports

The amount of moves that the Milwaukee Bucks have made so far this offseason have completely changed the makeup of the team and as a result, some players that were heavily relied on this past season may not be as necessary next season.

With all of the new additions that the Bucks have made, there naturally have to be some subtractions as well, which led the Bucks to waive forward Pete Nance, according to a report from HoopsHype. The Bucks haven't made an official announcement regarding Nance, but the transaction does show up in the NBA's official transaction log, per Hoops Hype.

Nance spent the last season-and-a-half with the Bucks after being traded to Milwaukee from the Philadelphia 76ers. The Bucks kept Nance aboard for the 2025-26 season on a two-way contract. Nance played a total of 53 games for the Bucks the past two seasons, starting a combined seven.

Crucial Games from Nance

While Nance didn't make the biggest of impacts on the court when it came to his production, averaging just 5.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game this past season, but he did average close to 16 minutes per game and shot over 50% from the field and during the times where the Bucks found their depth worn thin, Nance was an option they could rely on.

Of course, Milwaukee's depth is radically different now compared to the times it was tested during the season and with so many new players coming in, mostly through either the trade with the Miami Heat or from the 2026 NBA Draft, Nance simply wasn't going to have a place on the roster.

More Moves from Milwaukee?

Waiving him frees both a roster spot and roughly $2.5 million in salary that nance would have been owed, which adds even more to the financial space that the Bucks already have to work with that could lead to even more roster moves and additions.

Nance served a critical role for the Bucks during a low point of the franchise in recent history, but this is a very different team now than the one that he played critical minutes this past season and as a result, it's time for Nance to move on to another team.

There's still a lot of offseason left for the Bucks to make it even more moves and with such a strong foundation already established for their rebuild, the Bucks could be back to playoff contention sooner than most would have expected.
