Paraguay vs France – Lineups and team news
Paraguay
Paraguay made multiple changes to their squad. Canale makes way for Alderete in defence. Diego Gomez returns to the starting lineup.
Gabriel Avalos dropped to the bench along with Bobadilla.
Paraguay playing XI: Gill; Caceres, G. Gomez, Velazquez, Alonso, Alderete; Galarza, Cubas, D. Gomez; Almiron, Enciso
France
France named their squad with only one forced change, as Aurelian Tchouameni benched due to injury issues while Manu Kone replaces him.
France playing XI: Maignan; Kounde, Upamecano, Saliba, Digne; Kone, Rabiot; Dembele, Olise, Barcola; Mbappe
Our Prediction
Based on the current form, it should be an easy result for France, but South American teams always make it hard in the knockout stages.
But even though we expect Paraguay to put up a fight after their impressive display against four-time world champions Germany, the advantage is still towards France and any score less than three goals can be considered a success for Paraguay.
We say it will be 2-1 in favour of France.
