A 2016 knifing incident involving an ex-Arizona Diamondbacks player and a Seattle Mariners former All-Star, Josh Naylor resurfaced on Instagram June 29.
Stone Garrett, who played for Arizona in 2022, called Naylor "the most psychotic person" he's ever known when he commented on a video posted by MLB social media influencer Mario (IG handle @superstarioig).

The post from Mario brought up the knife incident and asked for corroboration.
Garrett attested to Naylor's shenanigans when he commented on the video about how Naylor cut Garrett's thumb when they were roommates and Miami Marlins minor league system teammates.
“Josh Naylor liked to play stupid games,” wrote the recently retired Garrett. “Dude would come into our apartment (we were neighbors) with aerosol and lighters multiple times, that wasn’t his first time in our apartment with a butcher's knife, the guy hid in my closet waiting for me to get home, when I went to hang my shirt up he jumped out with a knife pointed at me."
