Draymond Green does not believe the Boston Celtics need to trade Jaylen Brown

· Yahoo Sports

If you ask Golden State Warriors vet big man Draymond Green, it is not a wise move on the part of the Boston Celtics to get out of the Jaylen Brown business. Speaking on a recent episode of his eponymous "Draymond Green" podcast, the Dubs vet broke down how he is seeing the Celtics situation with Brown in the wake of the failed Boston pursuit of (then) Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

"Listen, maybe they don’t want Jaylen Brown for other reasons," said Green of the Celtics continuing to shop Brown even after the failed trade saga. "But to say to be competitive, you need to trade Jaylen Brown. I don’t ride with that because I just watched them be competitive and be top two, three seed in the East with Jaylen Brown at the helm and Jayson Tatum pretty much out the entire season."

"So to say that we need to be competitive and you just won a championship a couple of years ago, I don’t buy that," said the Warriors veteran.

"I don’t (buy that you need to trade the Georgia native) in order to be competitive," Green emphasized. And there may yet be a path back from the brink in that regard for Boston, with reports that a return is not necessarily out of the question.

Uncomfortable conversations would need to be had, to be sure. But such is the way of the Association in such situations.
