“Just to stay consistent. I think my teammates (are) doing a great job just finding me and passing me the ball when I’m open," The Chicago Sky center said, casually smiling after going a perfect 13-for-13 from the floor against the Portland Fire.

Los Angeles Sparks forward Nnneka Ogwumike held the title for most consecutive baskets (12-for-12) since 2016. Cardoso's new league record came en route to a 124-94 win and a career-high 30 points. The Sky center also had eight rebounds and a block.

"I think she was incredible," Sky guard Courtney Vandersloot said postgame.

"I think that it's been trending that for a while ... She's been playing awesome, and she has the capability to do that. And we're gonna ride this wave and keep expecting this from her. She was incredible tonight, and she should be celebrated."

Cardoso's record wasn't the only new piece of history Chicago made Friday night. The Sky also set a WNBA record for the most assists by a team in a single game with 38 dimes during the win over Portland.

"Our goals (are) to make it to the playoffs and hopefully win a championship. So, if we keep playing Chicago Sky basketball and playing together, we're gonna get there," Cardoso said.
