Five-star Texas A&M target commits to CFP contender
· Yahoo Sports
The Texas A&M Aggies may have the best recruiting class in the country, but that does not mean they have landed all their targets. They missed out on one of their top remaining targets on Friday when five-star interior offensive lineman Albert Simien committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, according to On3's Hayes Fawcett.

Simien is from Lake Charles, Louisiana, and was also considering the Nebraska Cornhuskers and LSU Tigers. The Aggies have been recruiting him since October of 2024, when they extended him a scholarship offer. He visited College Station multiple times during his recruitment and took his official visit on June 12, but Notre Dame got thier crack one week later and surged ahead.
He is ranked as the No. 20 overall player and No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the Rivals industry ranking. The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder is also the No. 3 player from Louisiana.
While missing out on Simien stings, Texas A&M still has the best recruiting class in the country, with Notre Dame sitting in second. They have six five-star prospects committed, including offensive tackle Mark Matthews and interior offensive lineman Kennedy Brown, who are No. 5 and No. 25 players in the country, respectively.
They have plenty of depth along the offensive line as well, with four-star offensive tackles Kaeden Scott and DeMarrion Johnson rounding out their haul. Their 23 commits have an average rating of 91.27, which is the fifth-best in the country and the highest among schools with 22 or more commitments.
