MANHATTAN — Kansas State football pulled off a surprise on the recruiting trail by landing a 6-foot-7, 260-pound defensive lineman out of Texas.

Finn Walker, a three-star prospect, announced his commitment to the Wildcats on social media on Wednesday, June 24. The Wildcats beat Baylor and Oklahoma State for his commitment.

Walker visited the Manhattan campus June 3-5 for an official visit. Other visits included Baylor, Oklahoma State, SMU and Arizona. As recently as Tuesday, June 23, Rivals reporter Sam Spiegelman said he thought K-State's pursuit of the lineman was "fading" and that he was leaning more toward Baylor.

Apparently, that wasn't the case, as K-State adds a massive human to its future defensive front. The Wildcats have been extremely active in pursuit of defensive linemen during this recruiting cycle, with Walker becoming the seventh the coaching staff has added.
